Description

Cute monsters with portals in their mouths - whatever one monster eats, the other spits out! Couch Monsters is a light-hearted couch co-op puzzlegame for two people. As the titular Couch Monsters you have to solve tricky physics puzzles to reach and sit down on some comfortable couches. Communicate and solve puzzles as a team! You will have to experiment, think creatively and pull off a lot of crazy maneuvers together. Only by relying on each other can you make it through a multitude of hand crafted levels and get to these soft, soft couches. If only sabotaging your partner weren‘t sooo much fun.

Couch Monsters is mainly targeted at friends (BEST friends and the regular kind), couples, siblings and parents with their children. But anyone who enjoys an evening of puzzles and goofs can have fun with Couch Monsters!

The game is designed as a local Co-op game but Steam Remote Play Together is supported.

Developer / History

The development of Couch Monsters started in April 2019 as a student project in the Game Design program of the University of applied sciences Berlin. As a team of five we wanted to create a local co-op game, which really focuses on making the "local" component a fun experience. We did so by mixing engaging puzzles with lots of tools and opportunities to tease your puzzle partner and it worked out very well. In 2020 Couch Monsters won first price in the category "Young talent - Best prototype" at the German Games Award, which really sealed the deal for us to finish and release the game.
